Sure we care! That's why we buy or don't buy. Unfortunately dollars are sometimes spent on our toys before someone posts a bad comment. The Courtesy 3 5/8" antenna looks good and reception as good on local stations as the OEM. However, I don't think even Courtesy is aware that the antenna is hollow. So, be careful when you install and watch the tip. They have now decided to send me a "replacement" today. "Left" hand at Courtesy was not talking to "right" hand. In the future I will be worried more about vandalism than damaging while washing or polishing.

Courtesy has always provided "good" customer service. This was just a time when someone besides Kaleb received my e-mail and fax and responded. They were not aware of several previous e-mails. You will have to go to Lowe's or Home Depot and get small o-ring or flat/thin rubber washer. OD is 5/16" or 11/32". I say "or" because it depends on how you think it looks and the thickness of the o-ring.

FYI.........my PMP shorty had perfect reception.
Thanks for the update. It confirms my experiences with the antenna on my car, and my knowledge of antenna theory. Only a wound antenna can provide the required antenna length in a physically shorter package.

I think everyone that's posting "great reception" either are fortunate to live in an area with exceptional signal strength, don't listen to weaker stations, or have convinced themselves that reception is acceptable because it "looks good".

AM frequency requires a long antenna, FM doesnt matter so much. On my car, I actually had the FM antenna wire grounded to the car.. I picked up ALL stations with no problems. As for AM, forget it.. no reception at all. But, who listens to AM anyway?

Actually, who listens to the radio? Thats all ancient history for me.. hehe besides, the McLaren F1 doesnt have a radio either!

Oops! The o-ring OD should have read: 5/8" or 11/16"

I think you are correct... the PMP shorty is a miniature version of stock... and wound.... giving it perfect, crystal clear reception. Perhaps my next add to my "collection" is the JDM IS300... as shown in JmanZ's post...

Here they are... stock is left... PMP in the middle ... and Perrin Evolution Performance on the right......

This is a S2K antenna that I got off of eBay. Works just as good as the stock one.

bringing it way back.. ha

Anyway I live in St. Louis, MO i've never been in a single car where I couldn't pick up my 6 fav. stations, on the Z I can't pick up a single one for long enough to listen to a song. Will none of the above listed "fixes" fix my problem???

Thanks in advance..

Question

Anybody got a picture of this antenna on a Z?
I am thinking of buying this one.

Is it shorter than the S2000 Antenna and flexable just like the S2000 Antenna as well?

The Mangowalk 2.4" antenna pictured above just arrived today.

It does looks nice on the Z and I like it, but the only problem is that radio reception SUCKS big time.

It's made out of metal, aluminium I think, so it's not flexible at all and the finish is painted black with a little gloss.

Since I do listen to the radio on a daily basis, I am changing back to the OEM flexible antenna for much better reception.

Here are some pictures I just took.

If anyone is interested, I can sell it for $10 USD shipped, it's basically brand new. I only used it once on the way back from work to try the reception.

Acutally, FM radio reception is fine.
But AM radio reception is poor for this antenna.
