Does anyone know if the 06 climate controls will work in the 04 Z? Having problems with my air kicking on all by itself and I think the controls are bad. I was on Slide Good and he has some newer control units for around the same price as the 04 unit and I was digging the upgraded apperance with the lights. Was wondering if anyone did the swap or knew off hand?

You would probably need the entire console. The air kicks on automatically when you turn the fan on. Just press the A/C button to turn it off. It's normal. Unless you meant something else.

 

no it wont fit. you will need all the consoles parts to make it fit and at the end it will cost alot more.

 

Thanks guys. I know about the button thanks, thats not what I'm talking about. The A/C kicks on any time by itself, even after hitting the button it comes back on again and again. I was more interested in knowing if the electronics would work together, are the plugs the same? I'm not worried about the fitment. Can abyone else chime in?

you will have to replace the ac amplifier (white box behind ac *****) also if you are going to use the 06-08 ac *****. I know this bc I did the 06-08 interior swap and my 03-05 amplifier wouldnt work. It plugged in but the controls were all messed up.

 

I used to have that problem too, just driving, with the air totally off or on low and it would randomly turn itself on full blast...turns out I had some aftermarket stuff wired incorrectly and after I got it rewired it never happened again. You might want to check for that also.
