True... it would look 'half' decent. But why go through all that work with dual projectors and not go dual HID projectors? Seems like a waste of effort if you ask me. Go big or go home, I guess is what i'm saying...

Default A few months late, but...

I have an '03 base. when i bought it, the headlights were cracked, yellowy and fogged up, horrible light output. i was going to buy the '06 headlights until i read the write-up on how to finish that swap, and the cost of those headlights are pretty high.
In the process of searching ebay for some used 06 headlights i stumbled across the ones at the beginning of this for $200 shipped. bought em. install took under an hour, and they look pretty good installed.
the next night while driving i noticed they were aimed quite high, where the light beam while stopped at a stop light was directly pointed at the street sign on the light pole. got home and tried to adjust them the same way as stock headlights with a screwdriver, and there doesn't seem to be an adjustment available. i'll take some pictures for you all to see them installed on a '03 black 350z, then take it apart to see if there is some other way to adjust them...

They aren't even close to being as good as the later model HID's, but they do look a lot better than the stock base non-hids... especially cracked, yellow, foggy ones.
I could do without the halos, but I like the layout with the side by side high/low beams.

Default Daytime pictures of my "ricey crap" headlights

alright, so here they are. take 'em or leave 'em, i dont care. they were a huge upgrade from what i was dealing with before, and only $200, as opposed to $1200 for the '06 HID's.

I'd take those and change it up a bit just for fun since they were only 200 bucks.

Do you have a model that came with HID's? I was under the impression that you need a new wiring harness, or need to spend some time running the extra 2 wires. Base models from 03 had a 6 wire plug, the 06 has an 8 wire plug. These headlights were a direct replacement.

thank you! The cut off looks to be pretty sharp and the step looks good. However the burn-spot I reckon is too intense and too far apart from ea. other.
+1 on the aiming them lower. I think they should be around the 27 - 28in height. keep up the good work OP.

bump, could anyone link the thread where a Redline Z owner installed the other set of ebay lights with the L-shaped LEDs. I can't seem to find that thread.

The guy had to trim some 168 lamp sockets to make it work.

that was my thread. I deleted it after a mod trashed it up by merging a bunch of junk threads with it. I asked for him to unmerge be he denied the request.

that would explain why after searching for countless key word searches and going through the last 20 pages I couldn't find anything. I thought i was going nuts.

Dear mods, Cux350z's thread did offer and add something new to the slew of ebay headlights threads. Mainly he actually bought and explained the install with the important beam projector pictures. The ones on this particular thread are of a different design. If possible could a mod combine his thread with this one.

At least that way people would have a way two compare these two newer led / projector headlights without doing too many searches. Thanks.
