How do you actually remove the rear view mirror from the windshield?
I removed the screw with torx but the mirror itself won't move.
I tried to use a flat head driver to pop it off from the windshield. It didn't work out and now i have 3 cracks around the base.. -_-

From the '07 service manual section GW:
REMOVAL
1. Remove inside mirror finisher.
2. Remove screw on the mirror base.
3. Slide the mirror base upward to remove.
4. Disconnect the connector.

 

toward the roof?
i tried to slide it toward bottom of the windshield, never worked

 

Upward would be toward the roof.
