On my 350 the "brake" was loose. It is one screw, tightened it all well.

The "automatic" doors are pretty convenient once you get used to them.

On my 2004 Z there is a pivoting bar midway between the hinges. This acts as a stop to keep the door from over-extending, it also has two scooped out detents machined into it. Inside the door is a roller that bears against this bar. At two predetermined positions the roller falls into a detent to hold the door in that position. This is supposed to provide enough resistance to stop the heavy door from swinging shut on your leg if the car is on a slight angle (example, the crown of the road).

There is a retired handy man who lives just down the road from me. He reshaped the detents in my door mechanism to be more prominent. It now takes a little more effort to swing the door shut, but it now no longer tries to eat my shins.

Sometimes I had these doors, like when I'm trying to get out of the car thats a foot off the ground and it keeps closing on me. Sometimes I feel baller when I just step out of my car and don't touch the door and it closes on its own, I don't look back, and I lock that *****. I should be in a rap video doing that.

Power train warranty is 60K. General warranty was 36K, but it would only cover it if something was broken. Adjustments such as this were usually 90 days.

I was hoping you could get the dealer to fix it.

Maybe since it's so easy they might good will it?

Answer is no if you don't ask.

Good luck.

funy, yes, i even bought new door jamb arms, and they are still unreal lame.
It hurts like a raped ape when youre not expecting it too.

while i can make a list as long as my arm on why the lambo doors were a nightmare, it solved this issue and made getting in and out in tight spots so unreal simple.. it was truly nice.. BUT, super shaky and gay and they closed like @SS.

id say 99 percent of forum members work on the car in thier driveway, sometimes angled.. and there you ahve it, shins get demolished unless you can opne the doors ALL the way up.
I have a condo garage, sometimes its not an option to do it in the driveway if its 113 degrees. outside.

i thot it was a funny thread, cuz it does happen all the damn time haha.
