I just bought leather seat covers (to replace the cloth) of my 2003 350z. The covers I got off craigslist are from a 2008, and after doing the passenger seat, the backs don't look right. The handle that I pull to move the seat up and down (in the back) seems smaller than the cut-out for the cover. Do the 2008 and 2003 seats differ in design?

I can attach a picture if needed, but I think I've explained it pretty well.

They are slightly different as you describe. Any talented upholstery should
be able to sort you out. I was in the same boat, bought 2008 covers for $100
and had an installer do both seats (including restuffing) for $140. They came
out pretty sharp and are at least an 8/10 or better.

 

My covers cost me $200 and I really don't mind it that much. With the only upset being the bit in the back that's never seen, it's fine for me. If it gets on my nerves or I want a restuffing I'll look into it. Thanks for the confirmation.

 

the backs of the passenger seats are different. the lever used to fold the seat down is in a different position. also the headrests are different.

Leather also came in full power, i have no lever on the back of my 03 seats to fold them down.
