Default Color Matched Emblems?

So I did a quick search and couldn't find what I was looking for....I have been thinking about getting my door handles painted to match the color of my car (carbon silver if you were curious)....it seems as though there will be paint left over and I may have the option of using that toward other pieces. My first thought was to paint the silver accents on the interior carbon silver. That would be cool looking but impossible to match every piece of silver, since the wiper and signal handles can't really be painted without losing all their writing....I digress...

My second thought was too paint the front and rear emblems the same color as the body. I looked for a picture but didn't stumble across anything. I have been wanting to change out the chrome emblems anyways since I just had my headlights painted black. I saw the black pearl emblems, which look cool, but they're crazy expensive for emblems. I also saw the Nissan leaf has a really cool blue emblem, but I don't think it's the same size, and I don't think blue would look right, unless I ended up getting Mag blue wheels....

I was curious if anyone may have pics of a Z with its emblems painted the body color. I figure there may be at least one that I prolly missed. Any help or input would be great.

Thanks!!

Good question, I don't recall ever seeing emblems painted the same as the body color but it would look pretty weird IMO

You would barely be able to see them if they were the same color as the rest of the car

Carbon silver emblems on a carbon silver would be OK.

On a sunny day you will get some shadow, and be able to see the emblems. Same at night with artificial light. Kind of a "ghost" look since there is no contrast between emblem color and body color. On the other hand, during a cloudy day with no direct light, the emblems will disappear or look "washed out."

the point would be to make them almost invisible. I really can't afford to shave them off, which would be the #1 thing I would do if I had the cash. I do think it'd look "different" to have them painted body color, what I'm trying to figure out is if that's a good different, or a bad different.

Why would you do this... Are you looking to imitate a crappy paint job?

Pulling the emblems and leaving holes would be better than doing this....

However it's your car not mine....

+1 to all of the above.

I know that you're thinking that they'll just be less noticeable, but in reality they will grab peoples' eyes and just look like your car was sprayed by a backyard painter that didn't bother to mask it off.

And one final note,

its going to look like hell.. reeeeally picture it.. its going to look like a plastic toy car that doesnt have any details to its mold.

please dont, leave as is before jumping to just using extra paint. Paint your door barrels inthe car, or the vent rings, or paint your strut bar cover to match or something.. but not your emblems.. ick.

I didn't think of that...yeah painting them sounds like a bad idea now that I put that thought out there.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I may do the black pearl emblems. The black headlights call for something different than the chrome emblem. I can try to post a pic of my car tomorrow.

I'd love to go emblemless, but thats a little too pricey. Thing is I plan on keeping the stock wheels too...at least for a while so I was looking for something that looks good and is subtle.

I'll search for pics of carbon silver with black pearl emblems. If anyone runs across one before I do, post it up!

I think the act of painting over the emblems while you paint the car is what will make it look shitty. If you take the emblems off and paint match it should be ok. I had my emblems painted black. Maybe it works on black?

^That looks good. I think the OP is referring to the burger and 350z logo though.

Yeah I'm talking about the front and rear hamburger emblems....

Also, I think black would be the one color that would be able to pull it off...like others have said, painting the emblems in a color like silver will just make it look like the paint job was done poorly. I'm leaning toward the black pearl emblems, especially for the rear emblem, but I'm not certain yet it'll work with the stock wheels, which I'll be rolling on for a while, if not permanently...

The front emblem is gone since I got the aerosync, and if I didn't have to fill holes, the rest would be gone but that is just further than I want to go at this time. Bigger and better things to do then worry about emblems.

Here are the back two.

painted emblems, regardless of color, is tacky imo.
