Default How much would it cost to paint my '03 350z black?

I have a silver 2003 350z Touring and I want to get it painted black. How much do you think this would cost? I live in pennsylvania if that matters at all.

its different for every shop. There is really no real estimate. your best bet is to call a paint dealership and get a quote.

best of luck~

Depends on a lot of things: the shop, cost of paint, quality of the work, whether or not you want the entire car done (door jambs and engine bay, etc) or just the outside paneling.

6 cans of Krylon are $30 , so between $30 and $10k depending on the quality of the paint you want.

Plus painters tape & some newspaper for about $7.50, so $37.50. Lol

I've asked before and any reputable shop will charge you at least $4,000+ for a decent job.

If you want the motor pulled and the engine bay repainted that will add to it as well

My friend owns a body shop and just redid another friend's eclipse which was already black and it cost $5000 even. That was with door jambs but not with engine bay. You can save a bunch of money if you do the prep work yourself.

Realistically though it would be cheaper to sell your car and buy a black one at the same mileage.

The body shop I use told me 8K for a color change. They do very good work.

Something to think about: Black requires a LOT of maintenance compared to silver.

It's not cheap. My car went from Redline to a two tone brandy wine red and black color with a pearl clear coat, matching paint on inside, under hood, and stereo. It was a wedding gift from one of my groomsmen (he's a painter). He said he would have charged over $5k. Car was stripped, not just sanded, doors removed, weather stripping removed, hatch removed, etc. Lots of work.
