I own a body shop and i paint for a living. Iv done all the work myself
we all know nissan did such a horrible job on the qualitly of the interior.
It scratches very very easy. I have my 350z and I got tired of seeing the scratches so I fixed this problem.

Im done with my car, but I still get a lot of customers wanting the scratches fix so I kinda stay busy with painting interior parts. especially the door handle trim, i get those all the time.
I though about posting a how-to but i think im just gonna keep it a trade secret.
so far the interior parts i painted has lasted and still going, 3 years with no problems

IMO...don't like it.Of course,in person is gonna look better than the photos.
If it were me,and I choose to paint the interior pieces,I would'nt have done BLACK-BLACK.I would have selected a shade to match the dk gray of the material used in the Z.
The black is just too extreme. Also, the gloss is too much.A trim/black lustre would be better.Another option would be a texture paint like a black wrinkle finish.
All in all, looks like plastic to me.

haha.. i read this stuff and think..
" MY dear god.. i havent had my car in SO long its going to be a sensory overload to drive it again"
Ive been driving a 94 Jeep grand Cherokee and now a rental Impala for what.. 8 months? During my build... and it was bad enough before , but now my interior looks like a carbon fiber terrorist ball bearing bomb went off.. ie Pagani ZOnda or a LP Superleggera..
Interior scratches and finger prints are going to rule my life haha.
I agree the pics dont sell it as the flash saturation kills it and makes that black/wahtever it is stand WAY out.. and in person , i bet it is QUITE a bit nicer...
If its cleared like a bastard, (5-6 coats) you can cut and polish it literally all the time if it gets scratched again anyways.. cool stuff.
i vote thumbs up on the handle pull and switches, looks well balanced w the doors.
And as for the trade secret? Yes indeed haha..
Let us keep ppl sanding that smudgy OEM rubber off for hours and hours.. i have a feeling you and I know the same trick.

I bet that black looks much better in person and blends in w the dark grey more.
BTW, when I re-did my rubberized parts I just scraped it off with the back of a butter knife. Very little sanding except for a few very small spots. I really hope people dont spend hours trying to sand that goo off.

I had mine all painted cusco blue to match my roll bar. my center console is wrapped in suede. To me that black center console looks way to glossy and doenst go with the interior. Maybe a flat black would look better
