Default WC Lathe Werks SS Sphere Shift **** Review

First of all I would like to thank Chris at WC Lathe Werks for replying to my emails promptly and offering stellar customer service.

He is the sole employee and custom makes each **** himself. I placed an order on 2/10/12 and he made/shipped the **** out the next day with a tracking number.

On to the shift ****. I got the stainless steel sphere shift **** in a burnt gunmetal finish. I have yet to weigh it but according to the description it weighs 465 grams! (just over a pound).

Nothing more to say other than this shift **** is amazing. I had an ARC oval titanium brushed **** and that weighed no where close to this. The sheer mass of this **** eliminated most of the notchiness.

Overall, I'm glad i got this over the ARC Ti ball **** or even the TK Hebi Bebi. Can't beat the price either!

He does provide the same **** in titanium with awesome burnt finishes.

Notice the black copolymer flared collar at the base. It's provided with the shift **** so that it all blends in with the shift boot neatly.

I realize WC Lathe Werks is more popular with the Subie crowd, so hopefully my review sheds some light for the Z crowd.

Still love my Hebi Bebi! But this does looks really nice and the finisher goes well with the shift **** as well.

I know what you mean about the extra weight making it a lot easier to shift through the gears though, it was a night and day difference with the hebi bebi for me.

looks great dude. I love their products.

WC Lathe werks is awesome. I had a titanium sphere crafted by him once, he burned it exactly the way I requested with more emphasis on the purple area of the purple to bronze fade. not only that, but he made it damn near same day and shipped it really quick.

he's a good dude. I've referred many people there and they've all been equally happy. he puts out really quality stuff.

not a good shot of mine by any means, just something I quickly snapped before I sold it (was for a previous car). it was just a really nice complete piece, complete with a lip for the OEM shift boot etc..

^ I think I found out about WC through one of your threads actually haha. So thanks!

that **** looks great by the way

so mini update: I have been driving the car all week and I am more than happy with it. shifts are a lot smoother and precise. in a way it goes into gear by itself because of the weight.

What's the overall height of the shift **** and the black plastic finisher on the bottom?

I'm getting tired of my Forged shift **** and have been looking for a heavier, yet shorter replacement.

^ If i had to guess, probably 2.5-3 inches altogether. it doesn't sit very high at all.

Can you possibly measure it? 3" is pretty tall, I think.

Just measured it. The shift **** itself is more or less 2.5 inches and the black collar is around 1/4 inch. so 2 3/4 inches total in height.

It doesn't look or feel tall at all in my opinion. Perhaps its a little taller due to the shift **** having a "neck" unlike most ball shift ***** that are true spheres.

Thanks for measuring. With the relatively short height and the heavy weight, this may be what I'm looking for.

Have you held a Forged shift **** before and if so, how does the ball **** compare?

What kind of an idiot spammer copies an admin's post and draw attention?

Have no experience with the Forged **** sorry. I promise you you will have no regrets with this ****! If you do I'll trade you my ARC oval

Love, love, love my Forged Performance ****. But this one looks quite nice! Almost the same weight as my FP **** - boy do I enjoy the weight of a good shift ****. Will have to keep this company in mind for when I inevitably change again. Hahaha
