Default A/C problem with recharge kit.

So my ac has been blowing out somewhat hot air....its not like really hot but not cold either. Like room temp if that makes sense. I went to autozone and got one of the recharge kits and of course if it was in the white then it was empty. I hook it up and it immediately goes to the red like there is too much so i didnt put any in there. Anyone know what might be the problem here?? I had the car running and it full blast like it said and i know the compressor was going.

You need to vacuum out the compressor before recharging it.

I was under the assumption you only need to evacuate the system if you expose it to air?....for example changing a line or etc

He might have a leak in his system. I wouldn't trust the gauge on the recharge kit.
