Lambo doors will eat your door panel to pieces, you wil have to open the door for everyone who gets in your passenger side becuase no one can do it right.. and you want to walk around and open and close doors for your bros?

That equals butsecks... it was terrible. How about the dents above and below your striker point on the door? you have to line it up perfectly or the door desnt close right.. its loud, it bangs, its ten times worse than scraping a speedbump, and your car will feel cheap as all hell.

Im not telling you not to do it.. just as you had asked me not to...

But no one listens to anything on here anyways.. people go online and make these posts to find people to make them feel better about what they know is dumb but want to do anyways 96.4^ of the time, so thats why were all gunshy and just flame away.
Its not just a question of played out and tacky, thats opinion.
Our statements mostly come from facts... its simply the fact of fully hating them when you own them yourself.
You had lambos? or the doors that muzzy had

I don't know the logistics of it but suicide doors! I haven't seen that on a Z and that would definitely get people talking at car shows... especially the old dudes that can remember suicide doors.

I'm sure it would be hella expensive but very interesting

Why build an outdated show car , Lamborghini doors are so played out, Lamborghini doesn't even use them anymore

ok ok...

im here.

first thing is first, people will flame you here for them. but you know what I did it for the same reason you want to do it. Be different.

I am the first one to ever do a motorized gullwing door on a Z. I had it for about 2 years.

They are gullwings not lambos. by definition a lambo doors hing is on the swing arm and move the door assembly on an X or Y axis. the definition of a gullwing door is that it hinges on the A pillar and tilts on the Z axis. Yes you are not hinging on the top b/c we Z's cant but you are hinging on the A pillar and not the door panel section.

Ok on how to do it. You will need GT factory hinges for gulwings. That is step one.
Step 2 will be cutting a slot in your A-pillar and welding the hing, you will have to do metal work to hide it and also reinforce your A pillar all the way down the side of the car.
step 3 you will need to mount the other half the hing on your A pillar (triangle piece) and weld it into the door. then you will need to reinforce the door structure top to bottom.
step 4 involves your shocks or actuator, you will mount these in the jam your hinges use to be.

Everything but the buying of the hinges is custom. you will need a reputable custom metal body shop to do it. And I would say your hardest part will be finding someone that will do it, and not only do it, but do it correctly with all the reinforcements. you gotto understand your doors will weigh 100-120 lb and the torque on the hing will be near 1,000lbs. there build will need to be able to hold all that.

Once all said and done, I loved the way they looked. They definetly were a show stopper, but I hated using them. They were a love hate thing. I would not do it if your Z is your daily, that is just dumb.

After I said all this, if you still want to do it, I have a deal of a life time. I have half the work done! I have gulwing door shels with the hinges and reinforcements already done. for sale ready for you to pick up. $200 for both instead of me scrapping them for metal.

If I charged someone to do them I would atleast charge $4000, the doors I have done will save you $2000.

^^Holy Matzah ball soup Batman!!!

How about you consider T-tops? Thats something you don't see everyday. You'll lose weight instead of gaining, its a show stopper, and seems like less stress than the wings.
