Question Taillight Tint Options?

Hey everyone!

So I finally was able to pick up a pair of OEM tails and they are on their way. I want to smoke/ tint them though. So my question for you all was; What is the best cheap way to go about tinting/ smoking them. Should I go for the Tint spray?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/VHT-NITESHAD...eed6ef&vxp=mtr

Or should I go for a tint overlay like this one below?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/03-08-350Z-S...ht_2500wt_1218

OR if neither of these options are preferred, please feel free to let me know how I should go about doing it. I just want to order whatever I am going to end up getting quick so it will all get here about the same time.

Thanks everyone!

-Phil

Many are gonna chime in saying don't do it!

However as of late I've like it when it's fading and not completely tinting the whole cover!

like so!

Don't like tail tint. But,if you are gonna do,use vinyl. You can always remove.
I have smoke tint on my backups.Consider doing these too if you do the tails.
Front reflectors also look good with smoke tint.

I only like tint on the reverse/turn signal lights. The Z's taillights are too unique to cover up

Thanks a lot everyone!

I do like how the Nismo had like a vignette style tint where just the edges are tinted.. but I have no idea how to do that!

I used nite shades on my tail lights. They're not too much darker than stock but I think they look good

Untinted is best , but if you must go for the 80's look , go really really light , where it just makes it a darker red

If you're good with spray paint it's easy to do, if you aren't I'd ask a buddy to help who is good with it to help or just do the tint strips.

that's my buddies. He had it tuned and it poops all over the Z.

the vht night shades with clear coat is the way I do it. you can always take it off and make the lights look better then new if you dont like it and it wont cost to much $. I ended up taking mine off in the long run

my neighbor has the Jeep Srt-8 Hennessey Edition... 0-60 in 3.1 seconds. It takes a big ol' dump on my 350z.

But I've decided that I want to not tint the tails but to tint the blinkers on the front and rear of the car. Should I still go with the spray on those? Or should I buy tint stripes from a website? If so I need a good pre cut link thanks!

Agreed.

Too dark can look weird on some cars.

if you really must insist on doing this get the lightest tint possible. anything too dark will not look good on your chameleon color.
