Short Weatherstrip, Anyone else have this?
This has been bothering me since I bought the car, does anyone else have a strip that just cuts off short? It doesn't leak at all. Should I just replace the whole thing?
Welcome to the world of dryrotted weather stripping
There's probably a ton of other threads on this subject but, long story short, the four corners of the windshield weather strip were a different material than the long parts that surround it. My 03's is almost completely gone on top and bottom, and it drips water in when it rains hard (I live in Florida, so it's VERY common). I took my car to Safelite to get checked out - they're able to replace the entire top strip, however to do the sides and the bottom corners they claim they have to remove the A pillars and replace the strips on the side. HUGE PITA in my book.
