Default Spots on gauge clear plastic

I searched but came up empty. I have spots on plastic face-plates of the three gauges above the compartment. I have tried cleaning them with a microfiber and water, microfiber and light soapy water (dish soap), and even microfiber with a little Windex. Nothing works. The spots, which were there when I bought the car, feel raised and look like they were from over spray of something.

A friend suggested using the stuff that comes in headlight restorer but I am a little weary of making it worse. Spots are better than making it scratched and possible opaque.

Any suggestions? Anyone ever change the plastic? Why aren't they glass?

I had these spots before. It was caused by interior detailing spray that dried up and never got wiped off.

I was able to remove them using PlasticX by Meguiars. It takes time so be patient but it will go away. Use microfibre so you won't cause swirlmarks on the plastic.
