liking or disliking the appearance of something is always in the eye of the be holder, Some may love what i designed, some may think its disgusting how ever i came up with the designs and personally love it.
I did the shift boot, Ebrake Boot, Arm rest, and steering wheel from a company called Redline Goods. I essentially designed it in MS paint and they took it and ran with it and it came out exactly how i wanted it.
here is the design and pictures that i attempted to keep with the typical Z color scheme of Black with silver accents with Orange stitching and Orange strips:
Wheel:
-Top and Bottom is Black Leather
-Sides is Perforated Black Leather
-Stripes are Millennium Yellow Leather (closest to orange that's good for handling) and Light Grey Leather (closest to Silver on the other boots)
-Stitching is Orange
-1/8" Foam Padding to better Feel
Shift and Ebrake Boot:
-Carbon Fiber Black Leather for main
-Carbon Fiber Silver Leather for side stripes
-Carbon Fiber Orange Leather for main stripe
-Orange Stitching
Door Arm rests:
-Black Leather
-Carbon Fiber Orange Leather as Top Strip
-Carbon Fiber Silver Leather as bottom Section
-Orange Stitching
Other Interior Upgrades:
-Chrystel White Led Interior (all around)
-Big Z Extra Think Floor Mats
-RJM Performance Adjustable Clutch Pedal (no more retarded spring and can change my clutch point and leverage)
-Pioneer Avid-Z130BT 7" Touch screen Deck w/ XM Radio, Bluetooth and GPS.
-Rockford Fosgate Power Series Tweeters in Doors and in Back Shock Tower Brace
-JL Audio 6.5" Full Range Speaker
-MA Audio 500w rms 1000w max 10" Competition Subwoofer built into the frame behind the drivers seat in replacement of the very shitty Bose Sub
-Hifonics 4 channel Amplifier
-Hifonics Mono Block 1200w rms @ 1 ohm Amp
-Black to Chrome Gradient Tint all around

not bad, yes, not my cup of tea, but at least it was done w quality.
Also, you should never apply any silicone based interior spray to any leather .. ever..you will ruin it.
Leather cleaner and lotion only.
its skin, not plastic.
just a helpful tip so you dont continue to destroy your new parts lol.

well...its unique so props for that.
I do think it would have been better with the single yellow strip at 12oclock on the steering...even better would have been an after market steering as the center of the steering would be hard to match up due to wear and tear and whatever else it has gone through.
not a fan of the shift or ebrake boot. simply black would have been nice there.

I use meguiars leather cleaner and moisterizer not an interior spray. I just applied it before taking the pictures which is why it appears shiny

Sorry to brake up your post in multiple quotes, RangerDave, but I have a few specific thoughts/questions
First off, I love the look! Not a fan, personally, of the color choice but as you said, eye of the beholder.
1) How difficult was the install (say, on a scale of 1-10)?
I assume that Redline Goods provided pretty detailed installation instructions as I've purchased leather goods from them before for my Mustang and the instructions were pretty solid.
2) Does the wheel cover feel as sturdy as OEM? IOW, does it slide around on the wheel at all?
The door arm rests look cool as hell.
1) Again, difficulty of installation (1-10?)
I'd be interested in emulating your idea here, would you mind sharing where you found these and whether or not you feel it was a worth while purchase?
Again, something that snagged my interest.
1) Difficulty of installation?
2)Purchase location?
3)Was this difficult to get used to after driving on them OEM clutch pedal?
I hate the spring action on the Z clutch pedal.
I'm really sorry to bombard your with questions but if you havent assumed by now, I've only had my Z for about a month.
1) Did you follow/write a DIY guide on the installation of an aftermarket woofer into that location? I've read/heard that the area resonates poorly even with more powerful aftermarket subs which is why so many choose to install them in the hatch area.
2) How is the bass volume/sound quality of your MA-Audio sub in that location compared to what you think it would be in a better proofed location such as a ported enclosure under the rear strut bar?
Thank you so much in advance for your time and insight.

This made me laugh, lol
While a bit busy, I actually like what you did; however, you can't argue that Porsche always does it right
I've also never seen CF-Look Leather until your pics but it looks BA!

Pudding the wheel in on its self was very easy, the only thing that got me and i had to fix was the internal spindle behind the wheel which has the wire harness plug in it. i thought at first it was used to put the wheel back on center as i didn't realize it moved, where as its just a sensor so when i first put it on i was driving straight with the wheel severely crooked and the traction control light and slip light went on when driving instantly once going forward/back. Once i realized how it worked it was very easy to fix and life went on as normal.

Thanks for getting back to me on all of that, i know it was a lot!
poor raccoon lol
I'm definitely getting one of those clutch pedals, sounds crucial for these cars.
I did the same in my 08 and hated the complete lack of space. Now with an even smaller car (although no less storage space, more possibly) I still don't want to sacrifice precious space. This is my daily driver and my girlfriend drives a 2007 hyundai tiburon with the back seat bench removed and a fiberglass sub enclosure there instead and while her hatch space is significantly greater than the Z's, neither one of us have much room to spare when we take weekend trips lol.
Thanks for the info on sealing the sub area! I've got a couple 12s sitting around but no 10s. I'll get around to buying one sooner or later and I'd like to follow your suggestions installing it in the stock location.
If I get any of this stuff done anytime soon I'll post back here with some pics.
