Hey all, last night my 350Z's radio antenna was stolen (WHY?). i was so disappointed because i live in a gated community and apparently a freaking $10 antenna isn't safe there. I ordered a new one off of eBay, which should be in the mail shorty; however, i noticed i was also missing the antenna base/cover. It is basically a piece of plastic that embodies the base of the antenna like a mounting unit of some sort that attaches the antenna to the car itself. I can't find any online and i'm thinking its because i don't know what the part is called. I included a pic to show what part i'm talking about and if someone could please identify it or tell me where i can find one i would be very grateful ! Thank you.

That's just dirty. I'm really sorry to hear it. Be thankful that they at least didn't ding/dent up your fender there ripping out the base/mounting unit.

 

I believe their $40 retail which is why it was stolen. The Murano or one of those shorty's should fit. The Honda version has a wider base. You could also try Ford's version which looks like our but half the size. I've test fitted the Infinity FX I think it was and it fit fine. I think I have a pic on my phone. I did not test fit the Ford antenna. The Infinity Roadster antenna does not fit as the stud is different. It may work for 370's, not sure.

 

Acura RDX antenna, do a search on here. Fits best IMO.

 

Wow, what a A$$ hole, stealing an antenna? At least it wasn't your wheels , and car left on bricks like what happened to my friends Evo. None the less, Sucks . Be on the lookout next few days, if he's a dumb thief(s) he will probably be around the area again.

Look up the Agency Power short antenna, reception sorta sucks, but fits flush with the base and looks good imo

 

It's so ridiculous lately. We've had a bunch of robberies around here lately. Tennants at my grandma's condo didn't have any water because someone stole the copper pipes. We had a break-in at my house, but we have an alarm and so it went off as soon as they tried to get through the back door. All over there's been sirens going off, and when I went to get Little Caeser's pizza today, it was closed and all the employees were standing outside because a robbery. What is this world coming to? -_-

I can assure you that the person who stole your antenna is a fellow 350z owner. What an ****!! I dont understand how can you own a 350z and not have money to buy a 40 dollar antenna. ridiculous.

 

Actually a s2k shorty is like 15-20 bucks offline lol. Pretty sad someone would go as low to steal a radio antenna.

 

I had fallen victim to the same fate 3 years ago...sucks. Are they that broke that they can't buy a new one? Sorry a$$ people... There was another Z owner in my complex whom I suspected but could never prove it to be him since I don't pay attention to missing antennas on other Zs.

 

Or maybe it was just a hater kid who wishes he had a Z. I swear some people are just stupid. Im up for a new antenna too becuase mines has been getting eaten up by the sun and its tearing. maybe after hearing this i will just leave it on since it still works fine.

That sucks. Sorry to hear! The Dodge Avenger antenna is what I have, sits flush to the base, is $6, and is less than half the size of the stock Z antenna. Reception is spot-on as well.

 

I know it's so pathetic. I think you may be right about it being another Z owner some of my buddies said the same thing too. There are like 3 other Zs in my community now I wish I would have paid attention to who may have had a missing antenna
