Default Cluster wiring woes. some work some dont

Alright after few hours of googling, I have cluster that lights up but shows empty fuels and none of the gauges work. my center console pod lights up also, the fuel pressure works and so does the voltage but the digital display is on "----" and wont switch to anything.

Now I do have a highly modified Z and I believe that something has to be unplugged that is causing this. At first I think it was ABS module so I plugged it back in but no change. What could another part be that would make the dash stop working. obviously its not wiring or broken anything its somethign thats unplugged.
