Default Colored DRL and Turn Signals

Has anybody had any success in changing the daytime running lights within the headlights to something like a red LED? I cant decide if I want to go a route like that or if i should go with a bright white.
Secondly, if I change the turn signal bulbs within the headlight to a white bulb will they still flash yellow due to the orange strip inside the headlight?

Thanks, Craig

And if this helps the bulbs are DRL - #168 or #194 turn signals - #7440

As far as the turn signal goes.
There is no orange strip inside...its supposed to be clear plastic but put there so it doesnt stain the main lense orange
it can easily be removed. so no worries with that

Ok that changes things haha. Do I have to take the lens off to get the orange strip off Or will it not affect anything?

And side question not related to a Z... Will the LED bulbs that have more lights (for lack of a better word) illuminate more and shine brighter? if that makes sense.

You have to remove the lense to take off the the orange looking plastic yes.

and for the bulbs...its all in the brand honestly.
Buddys of mine got some ebay leds with like 12 leds on 1 bulb/thing. bright as hell....and then they dimmed lower and lower haha. so just know your choosing a quality part

Well the orange strip will probably stay on my lights then because I don't want to tackle removing the lens just for the strip. I will just get some crazy white LEDs for both of the bulbs then and hope for the best. Thanks for your help

Put red LEDs in your headlights and you'll get nailed by a cop in about 5 minutes.

painting the housing black isnt really much of an illegal thing due to the fact that there are many after market headlights with black housing.
Its just illegal if the lense is painted or something to cause poor' light exsposure

Yea he painted the outside of the lenses with 2 coats of black paint and 1 coat of clear. They match the black paint on his truck almost perfectly

Red lights actually get you a flatbed ride and a pair of matching bracelets.

Good call guys but I have decided im just going to go with white ones anyway. Im surprised I didnt think of this either because my brothers hemi had underglow on it and whenever he had red or blue he always got in trouble for it. But thanks again for watching out

Well I finally got to putting in the LEDs and i am very pleased with the outcome.

First picture is the old lights

The following pictures are the new leds with the headlights off. They turned out exactly how I would have hoped. And for anybody that is considering, this mod cost me about $20 from DiodeDynamics.
