Smile New body kit or replace with stock bumpers?

I bought my '03 350z used and the bumpers are kind of messed up so I want to replace them all. I found some prices for the stock bumpers and total it costs about $1300 which I thought was kind of high. I was talking to some people and they said why don't I just get a body kit instead of buying the stock ones. I thought about it and it's kind of a good idea but I have stock rims, and from what I've read on here, stock rims with body kits doesn't look good and I can't really afford to get a body kit and rims at the moment. So i guess my first question is, would you just buy the stock bumpers and have them painted and installed. And secondly, if you think I should just get a body kit, which body kits that are less than $1000 look good with stock rims that are not crappy quality. Obviously the really nice ones are more expensive but my price range for the actual kit is around $1k.

Thanks!

How bad are the bumpers? I would hold off, work on the car till you get to a point you want to install a kit.

The front bumper and the right side bumper (i know that's not what it's called) are pretty bad but the left side bumper and the rear aren't too bad but I figured it'd be best to get them all replaced if I'm already doing half. There are some body kits that would look alright with stock wheels, but not the real flashy ones if you know what I mean. I can't seem to find any pictures of my bumpers anywhere on this laptop and I won't be home for like a week but I'll see if my brother can take some and send them to me then I'll post them

OP, a front factory bumper is about $310 and a rear is about $380. Painted and installed should run you another $400. Thats only a litlte over your budget of 1K. You can even do one at a time. I would stick with a stock bumpers if you are on stock wheels and on stock height.

Or, you could just lurk around this forum for a bit and a bumper in your color may go up for sale. People put body kits on all the time and then turn around and sell their factory bumpers so you may luck out. Maybe start a WTB thread and see what what happens.

Anyway, good luck.

This is a really late reply to your comment but I think I'm going to do what you said and just try to find some stock ones to get painted. Thanks

Are the bumpers and skirts not repairable?

Post a pic of the damage. If they can be repaired and painted it will save you a lot of money.
