Default OEM Nismo V3 on 2008 Base

Hey all.

I was involved in an accident yesterday. This lady hit me head on and destroyed my front bump, bent my support beam and bent my hood and fender.

I am dropping the car off to the shop now, and was wondering if I can put the V3 bumper on my car. If it just requires the bumper and diffuser and all of the other parts work I will do it, but if I will be needing different brackets and such I will probably just stick with the OEM.

I will not put a replica, so it is either the OEM or OEM Nismo V3, and I pay the difference between the bumpers.

Thanks!

Awesome opportunity!

You can order the V3 no issues just gonna need a vin I believe of a actual Nismo. If you have the shop order it through Nissan no shipping cost that they will charger you. I had a guy get fcuked over and had to pay shipping...

V3 bumper ($650)
V3 chin extension ($170)
Z33 undershroud ($200)

http://www.zspeedperformance.com/Body_c15.htm

So how does this work...the shop is gonna find the cost for a OEM bumper $XXX if that is short of the V3 bumper you can pay the difference. The shop may say "hey this isn't OEM and is aftermarket" because you are trying to front the cost on the part and buy cheaper else where......

bodyshops are blackholes for money off insurance

The shop owner is my buddy so I know I won't get screwed over. Yes basically he will price out the repairs and then can order the nismo bumper and parts, and I pay the difference. Obviously he will do his best with the insurance company to limit my cost.

I just need to find out what parts are different besides the bumper and diffuser, such as brakets, clips, etc

brackets/clips are no different from stock bumper....

bumper to fender is the same setup

bumper to the chin extension is the same as the undershroud clips and bolts, just more of them....

That is my dilemma, I like the stock sides and rear. All I have is the blitz rep spoiler. Maybe the V3 is too aggressive for my setup?

Thanks for your help btw!

Without at least matching sideskirts the V3 front bumper is too aggressive to be run alone IMHO, I'm sure many would agree.

But it is your car, brother. Just my .02

I am having a difficult time finding a 350Z with just the V3 front bumper and stock sides, the closest thing I found was the Strafe SL2 with stock sides and I think it looks good.

Anybody have any pics of this setup and if I could hear some people's experiences with doing what I am about to do.

Here is a pic of the damage:

I finally found a V3 with stock sides on the Z and I must say I think it still looks incredible.

I would still like at least one more confirmation from somebody to see what extra parts are needed for the bumper. Not that I don't trust KingBaby, I would just like a second confirmation. It's an accounting thing I guess lol.

I actually agree, I think those front mud guards do just enough to make it work. Will you be getting those also?

I might get add ons eventually but I don't feel that they have to be 2 tone to look nice.

I need to give an answer tomorrow morning on which bumper. So the only additional thing I need is the under-shroud extension? It looks like the bumper and diffuser is 1 piece and the majority of the bolts and brackets match the oem.

I want the nismo but I don't want to regret it by having to buy a bunch of parts I didn't know I needed.

V3 front by itself looks weird

You need sides and rear to even out the aggressiveness of the longer front bumper

If you still insist on running it just buy Zspeed extension and you're good, nothing else if needed except the reflectors

I'm in the same boat, had a minor fender bender in dallas. My Z is at Trophy Nissan in the DFW getting repaired. I'm considering getting the V3 front, sides and rear.

I just want to thank everybody for the help!

I decided to stick with the OEM, pull off the eyelids since I am getting new headlights and have no front plate, although it is illegal here in NY.

I will post pictures when I get the car back.
