when i put on my stillen splitter it was straight forward.... there alot more that i had to do over yours. like take out all the undertray bolts, drill holes in splitter for those bolts, i had that thing mounted in 30 min.

btw, i had never installed a splitter at that time either.

Problem solving. You've figured it out.

Why would you break them off then?

Those metal tabs is what I was talking about where you screw the tabs into the bottom of your bumper.

It really is common sense though. I mean if it's a front lip you're not going to put it on the rear now are you? You also said eBay..so expect fitment to be less than great. Put the lip on your front bumper and see where those tabs line up with and go from there..

I asked the same question a while back and got nothing but crap answers too. no offense to anyone here. all i asked was "how did everyone mount their lips and what is the RIGHT way". because all the lips ive seen in person look like they were installed with wood screws and looked like absolute crap.
two screws and $h!tty 3m tape will not hold at high speed and would never be used on a competitive sports car. so the "obvious" answer is wrong.
the best way to mount it by glueing it on with 2 part panel glue/adhesive. something like this stuff here>>
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/tr...FRAV7AodpS0ABA
or http://www.google.com/shopping/produ...ed=0CCYQ8wIwAg
its what the factory uses to glue on door skins and roofs.

basically any poly/contact adhesive would work. I wouldn't use tape, personally.

Actually joker using the 3m tape does work and also screwing the sides etc etc. I had my lip for over 3yrs but this is my 2nd lip since I hit a thrashed tire on the freeway and just broke the tip and so I bought another one and had no problems. It's all about how you do it.

Nothing at all wrong about using tape for the install - as long as the lip fits without gaps, the surfaces are properly prepped, and you use the correct tape.

Sorry, but you couldn't be anymore wrong. 3M tape is the standard across the industry. People who can't use 3M tape properly like to blame the product instead of blaming themselves, much like guys who over torque their studs till they snap and blame everyone else. Ever remove your sideskirts? What do you think Nissan is using in the the corners to make sure they stay flush? 3M Tape. What is holding an OEM spoiler along with the 2 screws? Tape. Any aftermarket lip from the factory is usually held on with tape and screws that go into preexisting holes.

3M tape alone will hold an OEM 350z spoiler without any screws. People either don't:

(A) use the proper tape
(b) can't prep the area worth a damn and wonder why their tape won't stick to a greasy bumper.

There's no reason why any screws should be visible. 3M tape along with screws from the bottom that utilize factory screw holes will be more than enough. Lips are meant to be able to be taken off for whatever reason you may come across in the future. Smothering them in glue is needless. What happens if you crack your lip and you need to remove it as easily as possible? You just created a mess you didn't need. If 3M tape is installed correctly, you'll never be able to take it off unless you pull out a heat gun and maybe some fishing line to help.
