Default Whatdaya think Wing or Wingless?

I'd like some opinions from anyone who wants to. I have some wavy spots and area where it looks like some seperation happening on the top main surface of my Amuse Wing and it has gotten worse; the owner of the custom shop knows about this and wants to do some work on it; possible surgery to fix it well/permanently.

I've been thinking that since the wing needs to be removed anyway I may consider not having the work done (fix the 2 mounting areas) just leaving it off. I've looked the car's profile over from different distances, etc. and try to picture it with the wing off and I think that it would look fine without it; I had the front bumper + diffuser, side skirts and new hood installed since the wing was installed and I want it to look balanced, but I think the stock rear end would look fine, what do you think? On the pics I just put a finger tip over the wing and that works.

*Here is a good side shot before the new hood:

One from a distance, before mcr hood:

*One with the new hood, but not a good profile shot:

I just took these to show the current profile:

Personally, I think more aggressive Z's (like yours) look better with wings. I don't know if it helps balance it all out or what. I think even a stockish Z looks better with a subdued wing/lip/spoiler.

^thanks Stulax18! I agree with what you said, but I'm kind of hoping that with the front end body changes the car would look good without the wing, plus save some cash; these guys aren't cheap as far as some custom work on that part would end up

I prefer the smooth look without the wing.

Keep it! It looks cool with it on especially with the hood up front. The rear of the Z looks too plain without anything back there.

I agree, wing is a must with that aggressive front, if you want to remove the wing, I would at least remove the diffuser from the front and add a stock spoiler or something along those lines

I don't think this was an option, but I think that wing mounted flush or almost flush to the trunk would look better

Ah, I missed the part about the wing issues. I'll add, if you have to take it off either for repair or just want to take it off then I say go ahead and take it off for a few days and decide how you like it. If you miss the look, then I guess get it fixed. If you don't mind it without then have the holes patched up and leave it off. Is there a reason you are having to pay to get the wing fixed as opposed to the manufacturer?

thinking the car would look "Front Heavy".......without some balance or attention paid to the rear.

The SM blue really make your car look classy. Love it!!

Yeah, I bought the part used from a guy in Cali. so no warranty type of thing for me. The shop owner here thinks that somehow the hot climate here (started to notice it last summer) could have caused the new work that they did on it besides the paint job to "move" somewhat. Don't know for sure, but it's bulging in 2 places now; he may even insert a flex-camera inside to check out the internal structure/s so we can decide on repair. He could end up even cutting out the top surface (most of it) and replace with even a metal piece.

Thanks! I think that as Stulax mentioned I should wait until the part comes off, then look it over well from all angles, etc. then decide

Thanks John and I'm thinking that I agree.

Thanks and that would be fine with me, but it only has 2 pillars that contact the hatch and they both are cut at 2 specific angles and have the 8 bolt threaded points. I wouldn't be able to shorten them any way to lower the wing. If this was a cheap wing I'd just scrap it and get a new one, but it's an expensive one; unfortunately having some issues and isn't the mirror finish on the main surface that I would love to have. * I do get a lot of guys come up and start complimenting me on the car and the wing itself.

Thanks for the comments folks!

Not my personal favorite on a wing but it gives a nice aggressive look to your car, matches the rest of the look and is perfect for your aggressive street car. I say keep it.

Normally, I like the subtle look the OEM lip gives for most Zs. Given the rest of your car, I'd say you need a wing. Never really cared for the Amuse wing, though. Maybe sell it and get a different one?
