gauge pod, interest

gauge pod, interest
first off let me begin by saying, I am not trying to step on anyones toes here, I know daking is offering these custom made, I feel bad for him, he's undercharging at not even 20$ an hour, any shop doing that work would be charging 60$ an hour atleast.
and theres a group buy that might have a product eventually...
I obviously dont need or want one(unless someone wants to give me a turbo), just offering my deals to the group.
I have a resin caster, he will do it in flat black hopefully eliminiating the need for paint. we do not have any way to reproduce the wrinkle finish of the stock pillar so the options are smooth around the gauges, or smooth all over, I vote for the second, but it wont be in my car. cant have either, its one or the other decided at the beginning.
all I have is a rough estimate of price, without actually buying a pillar, and modifying it, I dont have first hand knowledge of its exact details, particularly the back side.
with that said.
your looking at about 110$+shipping. with atleast 10 people.
as with all casting, its mostly fixed cost, and with more people come lower prices. 20 would bring it down to 85.
Il give you my costs so you realize the exact prices we're talking about. 50$ per part to be poured, and 575 for the mold. take the number of orders and divide it into the mold cost, theres the price. with 3$ for me .
I cant even have them cast cheaper than daking! but its the best I can get.
if there is overwhelming interest Ill order parts to make the initial custom peice and once I have that to show start the group buy. casting would take approx 3weeks.
no photos, no nothing, assume a double gauge pillar for now, and youd know more before plopping down your cash.
if this is a waste and unwanted, just say so. Just offering it to the masses.

I'm with mcduck, I would need to see something before I say one way or the other. I am still in for the GB and I think that may be the best choice for me since it is supposed to match the OEM pillars tecture.
