Default Does painting a 350z depreciate value?

I just painted my 08z a whole different color from its original color. I'm probably going to be keeping the car two or more years.

I just read in another thread someone said it depreciate value by 50% wow I just screwed up. My car was San Marino blue but the roof and trunk was fading so I painted it a dark metallic grey. Now the car is worth like 5k? That's hard to believe.

If it was done by a professional shop and done the right way, I don't see why it would depreciate the value any...

Well it's still in the shop and I'm paying 900 to paint the entire car so I don't know if it is going to come out good.

Well hopefully it's better than what it was, faded and clear coat peeling. I had to get it painted. This is the website http://www.autopaintingusa.com/
I got the simulator do you think it's going to come out good?

Man $900 is a cheap price, even in a Tijuana shop. Changing to anything from SMB will be a big hit, at least to an informed/experience buyer. Good luck.

It's gonna go down in price anyway in a few years. I'm keeping it for two more years or maybe longer. I don't want more bills with another car.

Bro I was charged 900 just to paint my front lip, spoiler, and rear bumper... I would imagine is low quality paint that will fade out in about 2 years if untreated. Gl

safe to assume that they wont be painting your engine by, door jambs and hatch uderside for that price and are probably using a single stage cheap paint.

And the warranty states what? "Car must be in a heated/ac garage 24/7 and shall never be driven or touch. If even a spec of dust lands on it warranty is null and void."

Warranty doesnt mean sh.it unless its clearly worded and reasonable...

$900.00 Paint job will certainly depreciate your cars value.

It will if its a show/collector car.. 20 years from now.

If it was repainted the person buying may not want to pay full price because that could be a sign of neglect.

Or a sign of an accident that never happened...
