Default Seibon or vis hoods

Looking at getting a hood from either seibon or vis and i know they have had quality and fitment issues in the past. Is this still the case or have they gotten better quality control? I dont want to spend close to $1000 only to have the hood fit like crap.

Seibon hood offers a good fit and not the best. If you are planning to a get a CF hood, it is recommended to put clearcoat so it won't fade easily.

Got a vis hood and it fits pretty well. Might be off by like 1mm but youll only notice if you measure it like i did.

Seibon over VIS any day of the week. While VIS products aren't horrible you most likely will need a good body shop guy to get it to fit out of the box.

Oem fitment and vis fitment. No body shop, no adjusents. Straight from the box.

Just wrap your oem hood no weight savings to be had and when it fades and looks like **** your going to need to wrap it anyways... Unless your car stays in the garage most the time...

Yup the OEM is lightweight as is. I would only go carbon fiber after market hood if i was boosted and looking for some additional cooling.

This is true with Seibon as well. Ive had 3 seibon hoods (only 1 for the z). One of them fit amazing, like could not be better. The next was absolutely horrific, the hood latch and hinge mounts were all off by a couple inches. And the last one is the one I have on my z now.

The one I have now fits good, not great. Overall the hood is a little narrow so I have larger gaps between the hood and fenders. And the hood sat too low near the windshield and was under the fenders, so I added small spacer in the hinge mounts and lifted it back to where I like it. Its hard to find a picture that emphasized the hood gap but you can kind of see it here
