Default IPDM Diagram make no sense.

2005 350z Grand Touring.

I am trying to sort out my front and rear marker lights.

All were dead until I switched to two front LED bulbs back to standard.
One of them was blowing fuse 71 (top right of Diagram).

Now the fuse is staying, and the front 2 marker lights and the 2 rear license plate lights are lit, but the rear 2 lights won't come on.

I know that there are more fuses involved, and I have checked them all in the IPDM.

The bulbs are not bad, just getting no power back there on my meter.

Question #1 Are any of the fuses under the steering wheel involved in the circuit?

Question #2 Comparing the diagram to my IPDM, a lot of the fuses that are in there seem to be wrong. Does someone have a picture of an unmolested IPDM fuse setup? Even the relays don't seem to match this diagram....

I'm not an electrician, I tried making sense of the wiring diagrams in the online service manuals, but I can't make heads or tails of them, I don't know what any of the symbols mean.

I am the third owner, and have no idea what the previous owners may have done in the IPDM, should I put the fuses all back to match the diagram?

That image you have isn't for '05.

See page PG-26

Check fuse 78. It should be 15A.

When you say the rear 2 lights, you mean the taillights? What about the brake lights and rear signals?

If none of the rear lights work, but the rear license lights work, you've got an issue in the lights themselves. The license lights and rear combination lamps all get power from one wire. It's red with a blue tracer.

While the diagram isn't for an '05, the OP is correct about fuse 71. Fuse 71 (10 Amp) provides power to the Tail Lamp Relay on the IPDM, and the relay powers the front parking and side marker lights, the rear side marker lights, the tail light half of the dual filament brake/tail lights, and the license plate lights. For reference, see the lt.pdf section of the 2005 Service Manual.

4 hours wasted, and I was looking at the wrong bulbs. Such an idiot. Thanks for the help, everything is working and re-assembled....

Yes. And any time you have an issue with the IPDM, the first fuse you check is 78. It's for the IPDM itself. I didn't mention 71, because the OP already had it covered.

Thank you. I'm no mechanic, so a lot of times I have no idea what I'm doing, but I have learned a ton from you all over the last 2 years.
