Default Automatic shifter assembly?

Hi all - new to the forums and to the Z.

I bought a 2008 350z for $7k with 80,000 miles. Everything works great except for my shifter. I could tell the mechanism is a little worn out. Kinda hard for me to explain but when I shift down, it just stays there and doesnt spring back up to it's "natural position". Shifting up works fine (I hear the click and it springs back down to the middle. Also, it takes a little bit of wiggling/force to get it back into "Drive" from sport mode. I was thinking about just replacing the whole assembly myself. Does anyone have experience with this? Should I take it to a professional? I bought a whole shifter assembly on ebay for $50. I would love to just save the money and do this myself if it's just a matter of few bolts and wires to reconnect but I can't find any tutorials on how to do the replacement.

This is what I ordered yesterday: http://www.ebay.com/itm/231335940327?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Any advice, things to look out for would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Check out the factory service manual.

It should be just a few bolts and wires but you will need to get under the car to disconnect and conect the linkage to the transmission.
