So my lock actuator has been messed up so I leave my car door unlocked pretty much wherever I go. Yesterday I accesently locked it and when I was trying to unlock it something snapped inside and broke. I looked inside with the window down and I see the rod that is broken. I have tried using a coat hanger to unlock and I was going to take my door panel off but I can't from the inside. My door cannot open and I don't know what to do please help!

Edit: closer examination shows that the rod that connects the lock has broke off the handle. The other rod that actually opens the door is fine but my car door is locked and I don't know how to unlock it. Button isnt doing anything

 

There are no rods in our doors. Everything is operated by cable. So pulling on them wont do anything.

From what I've gathered, if the door wont unlock with the button or by sticking the key in the door, the only option you have left is to cut the door panel off.

I might be wrong though.

 

i would take it to Nissan, maybe they know a trick
