Default Stripped door handle thread

I purchased the car, 2003 350z enthusiast, with a busted passenger side door pull handle. I purchased a new one and when installing it I realized there is nothing for the bottom bolt to thread into. I popped off the window switch panel and I see the stripped out hole the bolt should thread into. Just wondering if there is a nut of sorts I can purchase to fix this issue or if its something I'll have to fab

That's what it looked like. There wasnt anything that had fallen into the bottom of the door and no stripped metal nut. It looked like it threaded into plastic. Looks like this weekend I'll pull the door card off and try to fix a nut to it.

are you talking about the inside or outside door handle?

If you're talking about the outside one, the bolts thread into the replacement handle you bought. The the part the bolt threads into is usually what breaks on the handle and what necessitates replacement.

The fact he said he pooped the switch panel off would lead most to believe its the inside
