Default AC recirculation flakey

No repairs done to system. AC blows very cold. After a few minutes of driving with the AC in REC, switches by itself to FREsh. I press the button back to REC and after a random amount of time, it goes back to FRE. I also notice that sometimes the vents seem like they are not letting all the air blow. I will switch the REC to FRE and back and it blows fine and then will switch to FRE by itself.

At first I thought it had to so with the AC being so cold that it would try to let in warmer air. Nothing in Nissan Auto AC manual has that feature.

I would like to hear some input before I start throwing out ideas....please.

The recirculation feature won't work on a defroster setting, but it will recirculate in the first setting between foot and defrost, closest to foot; but not the second, closest to defrost.. Is your vent settings **** switched to defrost?

Problem happens when on Vent setting, with AC on. VENT blowing in your face vent.

Gotcha.. There is a feature that you can access while the A/C compressor is turned on. If you hold in the recirc/fresh button for 2 seconds, the system will then begin to automatically cycle between recirc and fresh at random. Maybe this is what's happening with your car. Do you remember holding that button in anytime recently?

Yes....I know that feature. It is an electrical issue, but want to see if someone may know what it is before I start making suggestions.
