Default QUESTION: How do you take 06-08 tail lights apart?

I want to take the lens off my tail lights. I saw a thread that says you can't heat them up because they'll melt and that you have to cut them open. (which isnt an easy job) Can someone with experience give some input?

Can you fit an exact-o-blade in there and start carefully cutting around the perimeter?

I was thinking about doing that to the ones I bought off of you, but I was able to seal that seam another way.
