Default Seibon type TS hood

Seibon Carbon Fiber vented hood

Ok, I caught the name Seibon in another thread and decided to look up their hoods. I'm looking for a vented hood just like the type TS Seibon hood, however I hate the carbon fiber look. I'd be painting it anyways and feel it's a waste of money to pay for carbon fiber.

Anyone know where I can get a vented hood similar like that Seibon one, but for less cash. Fiberglass is fine.

Best price I've found no that Siebon hood is $700, I'm looking to spend around $500. Can't really justify anymore than that to the wifey, unless I can convince her that the extra $200 would be money well spent.

the advan/hasemi race car had a stock hood out of cf, with two cut rectangle boxes, and then grafted reverse louvers..

you can do the same with a generic cf hood that you can get online for like $249.xx or whatever (there is a blow out on the vendor section)
and then if you have a local body shop graft on some vents it shouldnt be more than your $500 limit. but then again, you want to pait it right?

thats probably what i will do.. i dont like any of the current hood designs, not enough ventillation where i need it (near the radiator, and upper engine)

Yeah, I need something to cool down the engine bay and get some better airflow through there. It's gonna be painted, so the carbon fiber is just a waste of cashola.

I'll look into an oem type hood and having a bodyshop cut some vents and mold them to look good. Thanks guys

Seibon Type-VT Hood

I like these, but without the center vent.. It looks like the Veilside Type-2 hood as well. Maybe I can have a custom body shop fabricate the vents on the sides for me...
