Hey guys,

I picked up a '08 350z HR about a month ago and all is well with it, love the freaking thing to death! Driving home the other night I noticed 2 LEDs from the Right Headlight were out and the Center Light in the Low Beam Halo was out also (turns out its the same on both Headlights for this light).

What I noticed was that the Headlights installed looked like the '03-'05 Headlights not the '06-'09, yet every '03-'05 I looked at kept coming up as incompatible with the Car. Am I missing something here or is the '03-'05 Lights compatible with the Car?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, wanna do the right thing by the Car. Also sorry for the long post.

 

You've got some aftermarket headlights on there from the previous owner. With some creative wiring, you can swap lights meant for an 03-05 to 06+.

Best solution would be to scrap those and get some depo replacements for 06+. It wouldn't be worth it to open those up and replace the cheap LEDs that are out. Performance from the depo's would be better also.

 

While resembling 03-05 style, those are aftermarket. Both styles of headlights function the exact same, they just have different lights: Different parking lights, and the high beam is a halogen bulb in 03-05 and just the flapper for the bixenon in the 06-08. 03-05 HID (8 pin connector) are compatible with 06-08 Bixenon. 03-05 base model Halogen are not compatible without a plug conversion. I strongly suggest going back to 06-08 OEM, you won't find anything that outperforms it.

 

Thanks so much for your help on this Heel and Freise, it was doing my head in. I was afraid they were Aftermarket, I haven't pulled the bumper off yet so part of me is dreading what they may have done with the wiring.

I have had a look around and being that I'm in Australia my only option I can find for DEPO is to import from the US
