After a long 6 month wait my Recaro SR-7’s made their way from the land of the Samurai. I decided to go with the black and silver as this will compliment my Z’s interior. I’ll post up final installation pics when I get these into the car next week.
So far I've learned this with the Sportsters (others may be similar)
1. The passenger side seat is the limitation. The Recaro bracket/slider units are the best conventional way to get them to sit even as it has the lowest possible position for the passenger, while still using a slider.
2. You can get it lower on the passenger side, but it requires you to solid mount and not have a slider.
I'm doing option 2, if successful I will make a write up for it so others have access to it, as this has been the bane of my existence lol.
If it works, it will be the absolute lowest possibility for a seat with a similar frame to the Sportsters.
For people that can or don't mind sitting higher, I strongly recommend the Recaro units, but the will be expensive and made to order.
Doing what I am doing is equally expensive and requires a lot of extra work, but it's something I feel I need to do.
