They still need to pull the motor out to do the engine bay. It was a partly cloudy day but these pictures don't do it any justice, you have to see it in person. This is just the base paint, they haven't done the clearcoat and wet sanding yet. But its getting there.

Show and track use. The original paint from nissan sucked so I just went ahead and had it painted even if I was going to race it or show it. No its not a daily driver only a weekend car. I have to figure out my camera because its taking all the pictures very dark, hench the darker look. I'm not sure how many layers of paint they used.

A few words of advice, while the car is still at the body shop check if they can rig some sort of heat shield on your rear skirt. I have a v1 kit and my exhaust burnt my fresh paint. Hope this helps, hate to see that bad a$$ paint job get damaged....
Car looks wickid in that color, nice choice.

Why did they just base it and then take the car out of the paint booth? Why didn't they clear it after basing it? Is it for color match or are they taking the car somewhere else to clear it?

Once you basecoat something you only have 24 hours at the most to clear coat it, unless they plan on wetsanding it, then rebasing it, then clearcoating?? I understand they are going to wet sand the clear coat and then polish. Just curious. Looks really good by the way.

It was just painted early that morning. They know what they are doing. Thanks for the kind words.

I've been obsessed with that color ever since that movie! I think it would look great with some black wheels with a polished lip.
