Honda s2000 antenna

HI
Sorry for the newbie question. I've noticed many owners replacing stock radio antenna with Honda S2000 antenna. Is this a cosmetic thing or does the Honda antenna provide better reception?

Costemic reason,The shorter the better.Mine is shorter than s2k antenna,I got it on ebay.

Cosmetic. I got the Perrin Antenna at jscspeed.com It is also shorter than the S2K antenna. Has very good reception and fit.

Purely cosmetic cause the stock antenna is way toooooooo long. Also you dont really lose any reception so its worth the 20 bucks max you will spend on a new antenna
