I found a used K&N kit and figured what the hell. A few light tweaks here and there and now I have the best of both worlds.

 

Mod this should be in the Engine/Drivetrain/Forced Induction forum. Please move when you get a chance.

so you just ran the K&N tube through the gruppeM housing?

I think that kills the purpose of the gruppem part. but maybe Im not understanding it right from the photo.

 

I am using the pipes from the K&N kit only. The Gruppe M kit comes with a cheap vacuum style hose for the ram air intake tube (front intake tube portion) and the kit also utilizes the factory plastic intake tube (rear intake tube portion). The K&N intake tubing has better airflow qualities (less ridges, slightly larger in diameter).

 

Now heatwrap that baby and you will be as cool as me
