Default Cost to install a body kit?

I was thinking of getting a Nismo replica body kit. I spoke to a body shop that has experience installing aftermarket body kits and they told me the cost to put the kit on varies. He told me that if I provided the parts, a 6-piece fiberglass Nismo kit would cost about $1100 to prep, paint and install as long as the fit was good and didn't require a lot of modifications. They recommended that if I don't go with a real Nismo kit to make sure the replica is very high quality or I'll run into problems later.

Is $1100 a good price? If not, what price range should I be looking at for quality work? How do I tell a quality replica from a cheap knock-off? Also, what would be the advantages and disadvantages of going with a carbon fiber kit vs. fiberglass.

Any response would be helpful.

My father owns a body shop, the price seems about right, body kit price varies greatly due to fitment and amount of prep that must go into the kits, it there is a lot of modifications that have to be made to fit the kit then it will be alot more money (ie if u have to cut up ur bumper beams, a common thing with japanese cars because the kits are mad for jap spec cars and they use 2 mph bumper beams while US uses 5mph), as far as kit quality i would find out wat it is made of, there are different compounds of fiberglass, from wat i know the abs style is the best, if at all possible go with eurothane bumpers, they are "plastic" and don't crap when u scape them or hit them like fiberglass does, if u do get eurothane bumpers just make sure the bodyshop bakes the bumpers before he paints them, this helps to get out all the oils and so forth in the bumpers, otherwise down the road u can get bumbling, i hope that helps, if u need anything else let me know
