I thought I read somewhere that these cooling plates were actually bad for engine heat??

huh.....that shouldnt be right since it actually directs airt towards the radiator!

i got one...adds great enigne accent...and i guess it helps with performance...i dunno....hard to tell right...but i get compliments on it every time i open the hood...people love it...recommend though to everyone who can get there hands on it...or afford it...

so should I hold off on buying the cooling plate until they do come out with a US Version one?

It probably doesnt make much of a difference in performance one way or another, at least not a difference you can see/feel. Chances are if you are running on a track and heat is a big concern, you will probably need an aftermarket radiator anyway.

If you like the way it looks, go for it!

Price and design... most other plates don't extend the full length, and are completely flat w/ just cutouts where the hood latch is, and are usually more expensive.
This one looks very nice how it dips down in that area, as well as the part in front of the intake opening (although it's a tad small cuz it was made for the jdm z's intake)

autotecknic is the best with quality and price wise... my experience with them is also very good!
