Default black hamburger emblem?

What kind of paint do you use to make a black chrome effect on your nissan hamburger on the rear and the front?

Is it just gloss black paint or is it a spray tint?

thanx in advance!

you can do all that u said above. but risk constant chipping. the best way is to have it electroplated. i got mine done for $110.

oh yeah, i remember that thread that you posted with the electroplated emblems.

spdu4ia, try do a search on it, those came out nice. if you want chrome black emblems, then that is the only way to go.

edit: never mind, i found it for you:

i heard they dont do black chrome electroplating. Something about long term problems. Ive seen something similar done with the spray tint. They looked suprisingly good. I guess u can clear coat them after to give them a glossy finish. This will probably help prevent chipping too.

You can take off the emblems using a heat gun or a blow dryer to loosen up the sticky tape in the back. Then you can peel them off or use a fishing line the slice it off. If you have sticky residue left just start rolling your fingers over it. Heat will help. If that doesnt help u can use goo gone or WD-40.

U can find the "3M adhesive tape" at home depot or your local tools shop.

Good luck! ...let us know how it goes.

Can black chrome electroplating be done on the door handles?
Has anyone ever done it?
What would be better?
