I like it, but I don't consider it rice because Mercedes has had that as an option for quite a while now.

The top left picture is the factory Mercedes Benz illuminated kick plate option ($725 on the S500). The bottom left is the Brabus illuminated kickplate and the botton right just looks cool (also from Brabus). I agree with Ares and that the 350Z ones are too bright.

Wonder how much... Would it be possible to put some kind of electronic part so that it would get less electricity? Would that make it dimmer?

I think that white one is pretty bad a$$. I'd personally hook it up to the door sensor so that it comes on when you open the door and then off when closed. Cool! Someone get a group buy going with a GOOD price. I'd be in.

I can do this for you guys if anyone wants. Give me a couple days to mock something up as a demo. Should cost about $60 plus core charge. Its not really much in materials but significant labor.

i think it looks good.
What website did you find these on? Can you post the link?
Also if you have some higher resolution pics of the plates non-illuminated can you post those too?

I think we may be able to overcome the brightness by adding bigger resistor. OR for a less permanent fix a dimmer switch which will allow you to adjust resistance on the fly.

Next step is to make it carbon fiber! Or make it look like carbon fiber. I would buy that!

I thought about it a few months ago, but I beleive that is outside the door seal. and was afraid of how it would really look if not done "right". choppy or uneven ect. need to have the metal cut perfectly, and sealing the metal to the EL sheet; lexus is smooth across, they fill in the holes with clear something or other. so its not just reccessed exposed EL sheet.

I like them, but I wouldn't want them that bright. I'd want something a bit dimmer so that it's not just blaring out at you.

Why said rice can'be stock??? Totally useless part like this is rice no matter where it came from. Some cars have gold-pained car logo/model name as an option... Spoilers on most of the non-sport cars... etc

Rice can be stock
