Default U.S. spec NISMO body-kits, yet?

Come on . . . . . Jason or Jeff from Performance Nissan, please tell me that Nissan will be shipping you guys some U.S. spec NISMO body-kit pieces soon. I can't wait any longer. Must resist the urge to buy J-spec or replica . . . .

2 questions;

1. Are you happy with the quality, fit/finish of your replica?

2. Where did you purchase yours?

My understanding is that both the J-spec and replica kits are made of fiberglass--the difference is that the J-spec authentic NISMO kits are of better quality--they are better sanded and prepped after the molding process, so that when you receive it, the J-spec authentic NISMO is truly ready for primer and paint.

The U.S. spec NISMO kits will be made of the same material that the front and rear bumpers are made of--thermoplastic.

The US spec NISMO Kit is supposed to be polyurethane to meet US safety regs. The front will be a lip spoiler instead of a full bumper. I heard the side and rear skirts are also going to be urethane and the wing will be fiberglass.

It should be available next month and if you ask me again next month it will be available the month after and so and so on.

OK, just had a nice conversation with the official NISMO factory rep at the Z-car Nationals show. His latest story is that the parts have finally passed QA and are ramping up for production. He expects them to be at distributors in about 30 days and available at the dealers 30 days after that.

All lower parts are urethane. The front is a lip rather than the full fascia (we know all that already). Want to see a photo? the new kit is pictured in the NISMO- USA brochure. Only one photo (attached below.)

Finally, some news. So he said the lower parts are urethane . . . does this mean that the rear wing is fiberglass?

first... the picture posted above is NOT of a US SPec kit.. they painted the fiber glass like that to accent the parts of the nismo kit that the nismo kit adds...

nismo kit IS coming... is in the final stages... they are getting it PERFECT or atleast as close as they can... I have seen pictures... it is definatly nice... not exactly the same as the replica kits... but so similar you wouldnt know the difference unless you really really really know what to look for...

of course we will let you all know as soon as we have confirmation they are shipped to us...

The rep said he "managed to sneak the kit" into the photo and specifically pointed it out to me as the US kit. Of course, given the track record of NISMO to this point, I guess everything has to be taken with a grain of salt. . .
