To each his/her own, but I'm not a big fan of REALLY dark tint on black cars. gq_626 had his SB tinted to 54% and the look was what I would consider subtle.

Agree with KShep's post above, and add this:
Tinting the rear hatch window will block out the great effect of the silver Z emblem on the strut tower brace.
Also, it's very interesting backing a car up at night with the rear window tinted.
Finally, even with the best tint job - the stuff eventually develops bubbles and peels (per many who have spoken to me about it)
Either way - good luck!

In that case, would it look odd or perfectly normal to tint the front and rear windows, but leave the rear hatch window alone ?

Might look odd...I have 38% on the rear and no real problems seeing out at night. I think at 54% the look would be nice and you should have no night visibility issues. You can check out GQ's car if you like...he posts in the F/I section of this board and has a link in his sig to lots of pics.

KShep - Thanks for the info. I checked out GQ's car. Maybe it's me, but it didn't even look like the windows were tinted at all. I would prob want to do something darker or else not waste the time and $$ doing it at all.

My vote goes for the tint. I have an 04 SB with 35% tint.

Gotta get the tint, car looks way better with it! I have 30% all the way around. Trying to keep windows clean without tint is a pain in the a$$.

I put ceramic tint on my SS. It blocks out more heat than regular 35% tint plus it doesn't take away from the lines of the car. It has a slight gloss compared to normal, hard to tell there's any tint on it. IMO, a lot better than the smoked tint.

it's quite expensive, about double the normal cost.

before i had the tint, my car would never get cool. i would have the ac on and i would still sweat. now i never sweat. you can feel the heat coming in through the front windshield but not the windows. it's pretty cool. there's also another product that the installer is going to bring in. it's 80% so it shouldn't be a problem. he's going to slap that on the windshield. it blocks out more heat than the ceramic tint.

here's what it looks like with 35% ceramic tint.

I have 20% on my black 350. I love it and wouldn't have it any other way. I would tint the windshield 30%, but i don't want to because of the dot matrix on the top. 20% looks a lot darker on cloudy days, and you can see through it on sunny days; so i find it perfect.

Haven't had time yet. I've only had it 3 weeks. I'll try to get some for you in the next couple of days.

I just got a DB myself this week and always had my past cars windows tinted. The last one was a Mustang GT at 15% and with a black inside it was very hard to see out at night and in the car as well. I am not sure I will tint my Z window this time? Then again I am pretty sure my Z would look great with a little tint in it. Plus in NJ cops can pull you over for front window tint too.
