Default Side Emblems , Black Removed

Say mc350z's avatar and noticed his side emblem was all silver. I PMd him to find out how to do it.

All you have to do is mask off the emblem and then rub the black off with some acetone. mc350z reccomended Gumout carb and choke cleaner but many different things will work.
I highly reccomed this mod.... Easy to do and it makes the car look classier.
Anyway, here are some pics with my new emblems. Enjoy, and thanks to mc350z for the helpful PMs

It's one of those, "It looks better close up" mini-mods. From a distance, it looks like a silver circle, now that the black is gone to offset the silver Z in the middle. I like it, but it is just something one should realize before doing it.

joust, that emblem looks nice on your car, but imho the sb looks better with the emblem left as is.

like mc350z, i have a cs and i think that the modified emblem blends in with the car color, door handle and clear side markers really nicely.

What I was talking about is shown below (note that mine is now silver, but in this picture it wasn't)...

I hated it how the door handles stuck out with nothing to match. Part of the reason I did this was to help make the doorhandles not standout so much. Now that the emblem stands out more and matches, I think I have accomplished that.
No Matter. When I get my wing put on Ill be painting the handles. Jury is still out on the emblems.

I have a SB Z and one of the things I like most cosmetically about the Z is the brushed aluminum door handels.

I also like the chrome Z standing out with the black background on the side emblem.

This is not a flame, I am simply pointing out that we all love our Z's for different reason.

whey you say "mask off" the emblem... do you mean mask off AROUND the emblem so the paint is protected?

or do you mean mask the "Z" so the chemical doesnt touch the actual "Z"?

I have a CS-Z, i think i am going to do this.... it will look good with the jdm reflectors
