Default BCR Harness Bar Installed

Here are some pics of Enthuz's (BCR) Harness Bar in my Z. The install was super easy and it comes with great pictorial instructions. I would like to thank Enthuz for his top notch work and great service!

Enthuz is running 6 point 3" Schroth harnesses with stock seats and it is totally sweet.

Thanks!

But the Schroth's are soon to be replaced with an even better system!

Is it just my rallying background talking or are the harnesses supposed to be mounted that high over the shoulders??

In rallying I had to mount my harnesses between a 45 degree angle down or straight back.

Looks good though... I'm just wondering.

I would really like some aftermarket seats, but the airbags in the stockers are a nice piece of mind. Nismo has aftermarket seats with harness pass throughs as well as the air bags in them. From what I remember they are ~1600 EACH! Someday....

Enthuz, any comments on the belt/harness geometry that FreeSkier is inquiring about?

Ideally, the bar/shoulder harness belts should be at the same height as the occupants shoulders. An above the shoulder mount is OK. Look where the stock shoulder belt mounts. The BCR bar actually improves on the OEM belt location by moving the mounting point rearward, lessening the angle from horizontal of the belts.

It is when the belts are mounted more than 20 degrees from horizontal BELOW the shoulder that there is the possibility of spinal compression in a crash.

I'll look for a picture that might help explain.

Literally just dug up a 10 year old thread.

If you plan on using harnesses on stock seats, think again. So dangerous.

I already have my bride zeta3. Just looking for a good harness bar that's not too expensive.
