Question should I mold the bodykit? pros/cons...

I am trying to decide if I should mold my bodykit or not. Although it will be a bit more expensive I think I wouldn't have to worry about fitment and it would look continuous and flow with the car, but I have heard some people say it isn't a good idea to mold because (insert reason here). I am not sure why? so I am asking for help.

Keep in mind that the money isn't an issue, but I don't want to have problems down the road.... I mean, if something small happend to a sideskirt, will it cost alot to fix it since it is now molded to the body? I have no information on this so anything will help! Thanks ahead of time!!!!!

I'm getting ready to mold a V1 lip into my front bumper...I dislike the lines that show otherwise. I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm not molding the Nismo sides...

basicly as you said; if you mold it; its pretty much permanent; you cant ever remove it to have it repainted; for installing stuff like a CAI or aftermarket radiator, intercooler ect ect; you couldnt remove your front bumper.

generally its only downside is it being permanent. if you never foresee needing to remove the bumper for any reason; your good to go.

As ares said,
Thats is a downside. I wouldnt mold my kit IMO. if you get into a crash thats really messed up.

if you're going to mold anything any do lip-type parts. like you could mold your vizage rear lip to the rear bumper.

By all means mold a new lip to the front bumper or a lower rear spoiler to the rear bumper. But do not mold the the whole front or rear bumper to the fenders. You know what I'm saying? Then you are screwed if you do need to remove one of the bumpers for some reason or another.

Of course, I recommend you don't mold the sideskirts onto the fenders either. That's just me and what I plan to do with the Ings Half kit. It looks factory when molded and less like an aftermarket add on...

i did!!! i know its not a Z but you can get the idea, hope this helps, only con i can really see is the front, meaning if you bottom out the front you could possibly crack the molded area...

Molding lips to the bumpers is a cool idea, if you have the right shop to do it. But I'd stay away from molding the side skirts to the car, only because if you crack it, not only will you have to cut the car to remove it, you'll also end up putting that strain on the metal side panel (when you crack the kit and it pushes up i mean) and you can in fact ripple the metal, and cause more damage.

Let me just resolve the issue for you all the if you crack it is out the window its when you crack it, it always cracks no matter what and its not really you cracking it its that your frame shifts on a daily basis of driving the car and the paint will crack sooner or later id give it months to a year. It is a very good idea however to do this on a trailor car or showcar thats hardly ever driven. if you get cracks it takes touch ups and bondo from dumb shops to fix which will then in turn crack again.
