Windshield Dot Matrix Problem

Windshield Dot Matrix Problem
I want to tint my windshield 30%, but I know the dot matrix near the rear view mirror is going to look "bubbly" if I do. Is there any way to put black vinyl behind it or shave off the dots somehow? Thanks for any help or advice.

lemme help you here since nobody else will.
all you have to do is have them cut around the dot matrix, then install a solid piece of "BLACK VINYL" from a sign shop. The sign shop can even install it for you, if your not mechanically inclined.
hope this helps you out brotha'.

I would think that a razor blade should take them off. Then just tint up to and just under that rearview mirror trim pieces. Tinting over the dots would probably not look good since it may leave air pockets at the edges of the dots.

Thanks for the help guys. A girl i know has white vinyl on her mustang beneath her dot matrix, but I wasn't possitive it would look as good with black. Has anyone tried taking them off with a razor blade? I have no idea what it's for, but it isn't pretty. I hate it. Either way, I want to make sure they will come off with a razor blade; and if not, I will get a tint shop to do black vinyl before they put on the tint. Like you said though, if you don't you will get air pockets.

i actually like the dot matrix, but yeah its made to block sunlight from hittin the back of your rear view to keep temps down in case it is equipped with (garageopeners, Auto-dimming, electronic compass etc) .. something like.. or atleast thats what someone told me and it made sense
