Question Cutting Into Fenders

I just bot some fairlady-style side markers i will be installing under the badge on the front fenders. The seller says i need to cut a one-square-inch hole in the fender, but i'm not sure how to do it, what tools to use, etc. Any experience/suggestions? Thanx in advance.

I am not sure exaclty what u r asking but I will make a suggestion. i would get a drill bit with a diameter the same size as the square side ways and a small metal cutting blade. If u cannot find one as a stand alone look for on that is used for a jigsaw

1. mark ur square
2. Drill the whole.
3. them take the blade and slowly cut from the circle edge back to the square corner.
4. Then (depending on how clean u need it to be or how visible the whole is) either fold back each flap back to create your square or simply cut the square out from the side walls down to the corner.

I hope u understood that. It is kinda hard to explain without visuals.

Make sure you also apply touch-up paint to the edges bare metal that you just cut.. or it WILL RUST after a few years..

Ok, last night, i used one of those combo drill/saw bits to make my holes for the side markers. The first side was scarey as hell, and i removed the front wheel well protector to get a better view and feel for what was happening on the other side. It wasn't pretty, but it did the job. I used silicone caulking on the backside of the side marker to water-seal the hole. I realized i didn't have to remove the protector afterall, and the second side was completed very quickly. Thanx for your help, guys!!! I'll post pix later.
