The one I was using kinda sucked..

 

Any ETA on when this feature will be up and running. It would be nice to be able to post pics of car shows, events, etc.

 

I know I'm not a "Premier" member, but from a "customer's" perspective, I think the gallery should be a pretty high priority. You have quite a few people PAYING to have access to this forum and they don't have FULL use of it. One of the coolest things about a "car" website is that you can look at pictures to get ideas for improving/modifying your own car. You guys don't have this available to, again, PAYING members. That's one of the reasons I'm so hesitant about shelling-out money to be a part of this particular forum. You guys had a pretty extensive gallery a couple years ago, but that is COMPLETELY gone, and has been gone for a year now. That's just crazy.

I'm not sure of the delay or hold-up, but it doesn't seem to be a priority AT ALL (i.e. the time this thread started). If you need more help in order to get it done...then that needs to happen. I would be completely p|ssed if I had paid already. Again, I know I haven't paid and I'm not a "premier" member. The issue with the gallery is just one of the reasons why I won't pay either.

Something needs to be done guys. I'm not coming down on the Admins, as this probably isn't in thier complete control. I think the issue needs to be addressed by someone that has financial control over this site.

 

Mike- We want the gallery up ASAP but we have been working on the stability of the site as a whole. The software was recently upgraded and because of this it's not a simple "turn the gallery back on". We've also noticed that there have been some incidents where malicious code is being uploaded in some jpg files. We're determining the best way to prevent this from happening in the future to protect both users and the site. Thanks for your input.

 

Shouldn't the gallery be made up of photos that the admins/moderators take from all the numerous threads on this board? You can sort them into categories so people don't have to use the search function constantly. If the photo is already uploaded into a thread then the malicious code would be too, right?

I am curious as to how long you anticipate the gallery being down. 1 more week, 1 more month, 1 more year?

Can you give me an idea? I promise to at least wait that long before I revive this thread to remind you again.

 

OK I have the gallery loaded,
I need to reimport the data, this may take me a few days.

 

Soweis, i didn't see this last month. I use Coppermine Photo Gallery. It's FREE. You can integrate with Vb too.
